Thanks everyone, things should be updated now as you suggested. I'll try to add more images in the hardware components section.

More on file systems should probably be addressed in an Intro to file systems.

I agree with Guillaume and Mrinmay! You really did a wonderful job of organizing this article and presenting some really neat information. Learning about the construction, components and how hard drives works was a blast!

Once again, you did a great job on this article Tim :)

The only little thing I think is missing, is a definition of filesystems, what they do (apart from just storing data) and their differences.

In the partitionning part, 10GB is a bit small for an OS partition (windows vista requires 15GB + free space). Also, i'd mention that using a single partition is a really bad idea (but that may be because i'm getting tired of saving tons of data before formatting...)
