Umm, public key authentication is a crucial part of how ssh keys work. :)

SSH keys, the only way to fly. PublicKeyAuthentication off with it's head!

Thanks Jacob! Actually, keychain uses ssh-agent in the background, it's a nicer front-end than ssh-agent. keychain also supports gpg-agent as well, so I'd much rather use it and I've never had a complaint for people I teach. :)

Very nice, I didn't even know about the hashing of the known_hosts file, that's a good idea. However, you don't cover the ssh-agent command, which the the de facto for caching private keys for a session (not keychain).

Only if everything was dramatically written like your article, Phil. The world would be a better place.

Amazing work Phil! Your article is very well written. I had no trouble doing the walk through, couldn't find any typos / grammar issues and the formatting is just perfect!

Thanks for granting my wish and sharing this with everyone -- very much appreciate it, and look forward to learning more about OpenSSH and its usage.
